Man spricht von einer Informationspathologie, wenn in einer Organisation Faktoren vorliegen, die die Qualität der Informationsversorgung von Entscheidungsträgern systematisch negativ beeinflussen. Grundsätzlich lassen sich strukturbedingte Informationspathologien (z.B. aufgrund übermäßiger Hierarchie oder Zentralisierung) und doktrinbedingte Informationspathologien (aufgrund vorherrschender Ideologie oder Kultur) unterscheiden.
